@BAMS – Well, that’s probably because we’re only half brothers. Also, Jay grew up in Cleveland while I was raised in Atlanta, so that could account for some of the difference. Anyway, I’m glad you liked the show! We had a lot of fun doing it.

@Philippe Monnet – I’m glad you enjoyed the show and I agree that Jay’s insights and anecdotes about Japanese culture are really interesting. As it turns out, Jay likes to talk about as much as I do, so it shouldn’t be too hard to lure him back for another show. 😉 What’s funny is that while we share the same father (and not the same mother), our father wasn’t much of a talker and as I mentioned on the show, our sister Natalie talks more than the two of us combined if you can imagine that! Anyway, it’s all very strange. 😉

Very informative show – even though if was squarely off-topic I learned a ton from Jay. So thanks for bringing in on the show!
I really enjoyed the tidbits on cultural differences, something I always get a kick out of – as a “resident-alien” living in the states. I was exposed to the Japanese culture a couple times through work (working as consultant for a large Japanese brokerage firm in NY, and then when we had a small team from our Tokyo office work in Chicago for 6 months with us). It’s difficult for most people to appreciate our vastly different the cultures are. There is so much to learn there.
One of my Japanese heroes is – of course – Yukihiro Matsumoto (a.k.a. “Matz”), the creator of the Ruby language! 🙂 (had to mention it!)
Jason, I’d love it if you could bring Jay back to dive deeper in his exposure to Japanese culture.
