I agree that we should keep the focus on tech and startups.

I’m not completely sure what Justin’s politics are and since he’s British I don’t even know what that would mean. Is he a Whig or a Tory? Who knows – but I’ll ask him on the next show so we can talk about it a little. 😉

I have no idea what the country distribution is of our listeners, or if it’s even tracked by LibSyn (our video host), but if we can get the numbers somehow I’ll bring it up on the next show.

@Bopinder Abu Morpalinder Singh “Startups and Aliens” is really growing on me….

I liked Jeff’s take on the “Startups and Aliens” name in your other podcast. You could use this logo

On the “off the rails” part – not a huge fan. You pretty much lost me with conspiracy theories and aliens, however I guess it’s fine to get off the rails once in a while, just keep the startup part relevant. Actually there is one “off the rails” topic I would be interested to hear you discuss, namely politics – from what I heard before, my guess is: Justin = bleeding heart liberal who favors more government intervention while Jason = more pragmatic libertarian type who wants government to be less involved.

BTW, do you know country by country distribution of your listeners? Just curious what countries are represented.

Regarding names: Startups & Aliens > Generation Zero.

Startup and Aliens is a bit more on the spot but… I don’t think it’s a good name. If I’ve to choose I’ll go with “Generation Zero”. It’s even something you can link to the bootstrap of a startup!

@Jason I’ve seen a lot of business done at a table with a good bottle of wine… so it can be linked to the show 😉 I’m with Justin with this.

Two other things I just noticed about it are that the cheapest version is $399, while the community version of Titanium if free, and unlike Titanium it doesn’t build for Android.

Amy Hoy is going to be on the show in a couple weeks and we’re really looking forward to it. She seems like she has some interesting things to say and a good sense of humor to boot, so it should make for a great interview.

I think it’s just one step too far down nerd road. There’s only so much she can take. 😉

Your is the BEST podcast, and as a long time commuter, I’ve a long experience…
Stack Overflow? simply too boring!

Some things in random order:
. Bringing someone on the show to talk of marketing is a good idea.
. The name is not so important to me
. The song by Justin is really great!
. I can’t believe someone can’t like good food and wine! Jason, really, you need to come to Italy and make some research on the argument.

I don’t build web startups but embedded firmware/mobile sw, but you got me since the episode with Joel Reymont, thanks for all the tech and not-so-tech story.

Great job on the pronunciation of “La Critique”! “La Critique” would be used to describe the new critique segment as opposed to “Le Critique”.”Le” would describe the person providing the critique.

I also am a long-time fan of ABC’s “Lost” and I always read the Washington Post’s analysis the day after the show. Se: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/artsandliving/television/features/2007/lost-central/index.html

Titatium seems pretty interesting so I am just about to head over to iTunes to get the new episode. Jason, have you also looked into MonoTouch (http://monotouch.net/) since you’re also a .NET C# developer?

I also loved Amy Hoy’s presentation. I laughed so hard and got to learn one new “urban acronym”: OMFGZ!!! Slides 48-54 are a must-read for other Javascript listeners/readers (just don’t drink coffee while reading these slides or you will for sure spill it all over).

Im sure im just missing something.

In my opinion some of your best shows to date have been interview based shows, in saying that I’m really looking forward to the possibility of a Richard Dolan interview. So don’t be scared to make that happen.

If not I understand, but I think your experience could probably serve as a good example of how to bootstrap a startup. Either way, the invitation is an open one if you ever decide to reconsider.

I have two kids and multiple client projects. While I don’t coach sports teams, I am involved two nights a week in other volunteer activities and my daughter and I go to a geek event every Wednesday. So I’m also very busy. I think I’ll have to quit work completely and go 100% full-time soon. Just for your reference, I soft-launched last year and I’ve made $30K in 12 months time. Last month was > $3K and I spent 3 hours total on the project. I am pretty confident that if I work full-time, I can quadruple the revenue. What’s stopping me? I make too much fucking money consulting.
