I completely agree with Jason about electronic music and coding, I’ve listed to the same few albums and playlists thousands of times. Electronic film soundtracks also work really well for me (like The Social Network, Ex Machina, etc).

Also, I’m glad the Upwork conversation proved to be useful.

2. Western vs. English training – it’s not about the horses.

Yes, some horse breeds are particularly suited to Western training due to their conformation, like the Quarter Horse. But most of the difference comes from the way the horse is trained to carry the rider.

Western – walk, jog, lope vs. English training – walk, trot, canter, but for the most part any horse can be trained in either style – it’s up to the rider which style they prefer. Most people chose one style or the other based on which disciplines they prefer.

English: dressage, show jumping, cross country, gymkhanas, polo, etc
Western: barrels, cutting, roping, western pleasure, etc

3. You think it’s expensive now… Just wait until she asks for her first horse! 😉

That being said, as an equestrian myself, I can guarantee that if your daughter decides that horses are her thing, it will be something that will teach her so much about herself and how to be responsible. There’s a lot to learn, and you never stop as it’s a lifelong mission to improve. It’s so worth it.
