So sorry I just now heard the show and wasn’t able to watch live. Periscope is decent for broadcasting without engagement, but Meerkat is much better for developing real relationships with the audience. The way that comments work on Periscope is frustrating because they disappear within a few seconds and viewers get locked out if the audience reaches a certain size. The Meerkat community is really friendly and much stickier.

I hope to catch the next show on either or both apps! 🙂

I get dizzy thinking about how much you accomplish. I guess I was just thinking that as long as you’re doing all that teaching anyway, there might be a way to record them and make them available to other kids. Just riffing here, but imagine KA picking up the tab for having someone shoot and edit your classes!

The thing about the mainstream / establishment media is that they hate, I mean HATE!, being shown how toothless and unchallenging they are when it comes to accepting our government’s narrative on foreign policy. You’d think they’d take their role as investigative/adversarial journalists more seriously after how badly they failed their collective readership in the runup to the Iraq War, but no, it’s just so much easier to sit back and accept whatever some nameless White House or Pentagon spokesman wants to feed them. It’s really disappointing and a major deficit for our democracy.

@Philippe – Ah, a random hangout member maybe explains why Justin said “for Terry’s benefit” for no apparent reason in the middle of the show 🙂

The app name discussion was interesting. I was wondering how this works as Justin had an app named Swarm then at some point Foursquare released an app with the same name.

For anyone in the UK a trip to Bletchley Park is well worth it. I went a couple of months ago, you get to see a replica Bombe computer in action.

Watching the show live on Periscope was definitely a lot of fun. Not to mention, how funny the short story from the guy popping up randomly while we tried Google Hangouts … priceless. 🙂
