The use of martial arts belts also has a synergy with our industry’s (overuse) of ‘ninja’. Also, for belts, don’t award one belt per challenge completion, you have a number of challenges on your way to belt graduation. Keep a leader board of students’ progress for bragging rights and friendly peer encouragement.

By the way, I love the idea of Catalyst. I’ve always known I’d eventually ‘give back’ honoring my mentors who ‘cared’ about me (I’m not from the best provenance). When you decide to franchise I’ll be here in Richmond VA eager to share to the less-privileged.
