If any of you are first-time podcast listeners starting with this episode, what impression did it make on you?
I hear seemingly real conflict between Justin & Jason on many episodes, and I’ve often wondered why you two keep coming back for more; In this episode I learn there are (heretofore) un-credited moderators working for TZL. That explains it.
Thank you to the peace-keepers.
]]>… and it’s really interesting to hear stories that we’ve heard from the regular shows told from from the wives perspective (like Sandy getting suits for Jason during the early days)
Great job of putting this together… and seriously the wives should have their own TZ spinoff podcast 😀
]]>Justin, Jason…. they’re giving you guys a run for your money!
Nick
]]>Best anniversary episode ever!
Can’t wait to listen to it again with my lady 😉
ps. Not to disappoint you guys (because you were not even in it 😉 ) – but if I would have to recommend an episode of Techzing to first time listener – this one would be it !
So much about techie-entrepreneur-geek lifestyle just hit the spot…
Thank you!
]]>I’m not sure if this sounds incredibly challenging or maybe you’re already aware of it. It could also be totally incorrect! However, if you feel like things are harder than they need to be then get yourself checked out by a qualified professional and maybe have a look at treatment options.
Lots of entrepreneurs have this.
]]>I can’t imagine the bullets Jason, Justin, and Rob were sweating waiting to hear what the said about you.
]]>I was so impressed I have forced my lady friend to listen to it as it might explain to her why I do some of the things I do.
]]>@Harry – It’s the Bat Cave, not the Nerd Hole, damnit! How many time do I have to tell her? (sigh) 😉
@Dave Reynolds – I know and I’m sorry, but I’ve never liked the name TechZing, and in fact, I kind of wince every time I say it, just like I wince every time I hear a recording of my own voice. (again, sigh) Recently, I wanted to change the name to something like Project X, but then some stupid teen movie came out with that name, so it’s back to the drawing board. I guess we could go with Project Y, but that was the original name for the Manhattan Project, which probably wouldn’t serve as the best namesake.
@David Walz – Exactly, just because I watched the Bachelorette with Sandy doesn’t mean I liked it! Well, maybe just a little … sorta. And three cheers for one-F Jef! I mean, … wait, what am talking up? Somebody shoot me.
@Mohammed Firdaus – Yeah, I guess Sandy tagged me pretty good with the ‘Rawww Rawwwww Rawww’. 😉
@Udi Mosayev – You’re absolutely right, I think all three of us lucked out with the women we married.
@Dave Marshall – Both Command Centre and Computer Club are hilarious!
]]>I’m going to try and get my wife to listen to it with me at some point, I’m pretty sure she’ll be able to draw parallels to our family life.
And as a bonus, I’m pretty sure I heard Sandy pronounce niche correctly! Or at least the same as how I pronounce it 🙂
My nerd hole is called the Command Centre, and when I go to to meetups, they’re called Computer Club.
Congratulations to Justin and Jason on their 200th episode, please keep up the hard work.
]]>I actually set up something similar to TAG – a reminder to text my significant other asking how her day is going.
Rob has gained even more of my respect due to his t-shirt collection! I am in a unique posistion where my fiancee actually buys me geek t-shirts, guess I lucked out!
]]>I laughed pretty hard about the Bachelorette comment because my girlfriend got me hooked on it for a while. It’s like a train wreck, just because i’m watching doesn’t mean I like train wrecks…right?
P.S. I knew Jeff was going to win.. he’s an entrepreneur.
]]>BEST. SHOW. EVER! 😀
]]>I started listening and couldn’t go on. I had a powerful feeling eavesdropping.
]]>Out of curiosity, what other names have you guys been kicking around?
]]>Also extra-congrats to Georgie on her interview leadership skills – that made the conversation flow really smooth! 🙂
Again … a “must-listen” show!
Lots of parallels to my relationship with wife & kids, too. It’s cool that we all have such supportive spouses. I guess it wouldn’t be possible to be a software business owner otherwise…
For what it’s worth, in my house it’s called “The Nerdery”.
]]>They are all saints for putting up with tech entrepreneurs. My first wife was a CPA, which in no way was a good fit for my entrepreneurial mindset and ADD-addled brain. lol As the ladies were talking about the financial roller coaster that we bring to the table, I couldn’t help but think it was probably a good thing a couple of them have psychology training. My live-in girlfriend is a cardiac surgeon, and it’s amazing how much better of a fit we are. Her work hours consume much of her day, whereas my work vs. free hours are blurred because of the enjoyment we all seem to get from constant informational stimuli (work-related or other interests), so we do have mutually conducive, albeit hectic, schedules. It also helps that she has a school loan pile of debt the size of a mountain, so she understands the financial loss and gain that both of our careers can afford us, or potentially afford us.
Again, great show. I’ve paired down my podcast subscriptions, but both shows are my must-listens. Cheers.
]]>Loved “come out of your nerd hole.”
]]>Press Release:
Andreessen Horowitz announces unprecedented $146m investment in Justin Vincent’s thinkAbout Applications, causing many in the investment arena to call this the Color of 2012, albeit an investment that actually makes sense.
I enjoy listening to the podcast very much and this episode was outstanding! I am already looking forward to episode 400.
Really cool to hear the wifes talk about all the stuff and I have to admit, that I seem to share some of the traits of Jason, Justin and Rob. Makes me wonder how my wife is able to put up with this.
Thanks to Georgie, Sandy and Sherry for doing this insanely cool episode!
PS: I will support any motion to get rid of the guys and have the gals take over! 😉
]]>Please thank Sherry again for coming on the show. She did a great job.
]]>1. TAG
2. The bachelorette!? You are never going to live that one down.
3. “Come out of your nerd hole.”
Great work, and congratulations on 200 epic episodes.
]]>Keep going guys!
]]>P.S I hear you are something of a sf geek and am wondering if you know about a tv show that was aired in the early 2000’s set in around 2100 about a detective investigating multinational pharmaceutic company that has ties with terrorist and what not, it had great visual effects for that time but i have forgotten the name and cant find it. If you help mi find this show i will sign you petition to bring back Stargate Universe. That is if you ever start one.:-)
]]>I’ve never though about what my wife thinks I do, but this was a bit of an eye opener. “Coming up for air” was a great way of putting it. I’m thinking about getting her to listen to it so I can say “See, I’m not crazy. We just sometimes get consumed”.
@Georgie: I got a lot of weird looks when I burst out laughing on train about TAG. That made my day.
