  1. Jason,

Hitting 142 on the air bike is amazing. Wow. I’m nauseous thinking about it. We use hose in Crossfit and they suck the energy right out of you. You’re definitely getting fitter!

I’m a big fan of the nugget mentoring and grouping ideas. Having the possibility of interacting with great mentors in my space is a really appealing concept. Similarly, I think it would be very valuable if I were able to talk about publishing (my current side project space) with other publishing-focused founders. I’d like to emphasize, though, that without a pretty narrow focus the idea becomes much less useful. I mean, if the group was only focused on other people my age, for instance, it wouldn’t be particularly appealing. One thing you could do is implement a sign-up page with a drop-down where you can select a niche, and then send a notification to people when a certain threshold is reached: “five people have expressed interest in the publishing industry, would you like to commit to join this cohort?”

And I love walks, Jason has the right idea. My wife and I go on walks most evenings, it’s really pleasant. Even in the winter after it snows it’s fun to get bundled up and trudge through the greenbelt.

Finally, I was delighted to hear you guys mention my Kickstarter. Thanks so much for your support! I’m looking forward to getting the books out to readers.

@Justin: Congratulations on the Nugget Mercury launch, especially the mentorship partnering matchup and combining that with leveling up/gamification for the Nugget entrepreneurs to gain access to mentors, as well as the mentors being able to choose what level they feel comfortable getting involved in.

Taking the medical chart analogy that Jason came up with and moving that into the astronautical realm, perhaps there could be the concept of a pre-flight checklist that the mentors could have access to that shows the progress toward the various goals of the Nugget program. And even if not used by mentors, it could be used as a report card type of summarization of the project/team progress

@Joe: I think your right about focusing on subject niche rather than anything else. Also like your idea about being able to register for a niche. That said… after having a deeper look at how the academy works subject niches might not work because during the course we explicitly help students generate 50-100 ideas. So it could be anything that they come up with (ie even if they start in a niche odds are they wont execute in it). That said there ight be scope for grouping people after they have a validated product and are out in the wild.

@Danilo: Love that your always working on your naming fu. That’s a good call about the pre-flight checklist will have a think about it.

@Scott yewrll – Thanks! But I haven’t done it in a few weeks, so I’ve probably fallen of a bit. Also, the 142 is probably more about my ability to generate power than it is about my fitness, which has never been my strong point.

What’s funny though is that my trainer’s PR is 138 and he’s an extremely fit and athletic 27-year old. That’s 20 years my junior! 😉
