    I really do understand the use of tr.im, bit.ly. But to my knowledge squatters, spammers & scammers are getting a good chance because the shortened URL can be easily camouflauged. What are your thoughts on that?

    Very interesting discussion- I’ve blogged about it at Tr.im’s Brief Demise and the Privacy Implications of the Bit.ly Monopoly for those who can’t spend the hour.

    Also interesting is the discussion of architecting the system- amazing that you can get the performance even while doing an insert for every hit.
